We have been running these arrays for several years now on 5 or 6 servers. In the main server we have 5 2Tb (14x146gb) arrays each on their own card with dual u320 channels. They have worked very well and so far we have not had a single lost array. Sure we have some drive failures, but thats to be expected with all these drives. We do use the LSI megaraid controllers rather than Dell branded controllers though, perhaps that is some peoples issue. We also are starting to transition our storage to a sas raid array arangement vs the controller card raid setup we use now. Looks promising so far, I am a bit nervous however as the Dells have been so solid. On the other hand my experiance with the Dell servers is that they suck.

any idea how to fix latency?
I've removed

# # Just in case of problems, let's not hang Nagios
# $SIG{'ALRM'} = sub {
#         print "ERROR: No snmp response from $hostname (alarm timeout)\n";
#         exit $ERRORS{'UNKNOWN'};

and it seems to work while doing the manual checks. Since it's a distributed system when DMS sends the info to CMS it still errors out

Hm. My RPN got truncated:
it should be (all one line):
dfLowTotalKBytes,0,LT,4294967296,dfLowTotalKBytes,+,dfLowTotalKBytes,IF,
dfHighTotalKBytes,4294967296,*,+,1024,*

To be accurate, given that NetApp returns signed integers with unsigned content, you have to be careful, otherwise you end up with adding the raw dfLowAvailKBytes, instead of the sign corrected version, or multiplying the negative dfHighAvailKBytes, and ending up with crazy stuff.
In RPN form, what you want is:
dfLowTotalKBytes,0,LT,4294967296,dfLowTotalKBytes,+,dfLowTotalKBytes,IF,dfHighTotalKBytes,4294967296,*,+,1024,*

Other NetApp gotchas are that they change the units they report metrics in between releases. e.g. latency for reads and write is reported in milliseconds before 7.3, microseconds after. And should not even be collected on early 7.3 code, due to bugs.
This is some of the stuff that LogicMonitor automates and saves lots of time on.

slight modification to that, the high order value is the number of times to multiply by 2^32 and add the low order value to it.

The problem is the SNMP v1 and v2c MIBs have 32 bit integers and v3 has 64 bit integers. You need DOT 7.3 to get use the v3 MIB.

To get valid data between 2 and 4TB, you need to use unsigned integers. Larger volume/aggregate sizes are also supported in the v1 and v2c MIB but they are split into a low and high value, so you need to combine them. If you look through the MIB, you will see entries like:

	dfHighAvailKBytes
	dfLowAvailKBytes

in the dfTable section so you need to shift the first value left 32 bits and add them together.

I was hoping someone had already put this into the plugin but I guess not yet. I only started looking at this a couple of days ago when I got an insane response for a 6TB volume.

I remember those days -- my sister was notorious for doing this with Mom's make-up. We have numerous pictures of her doing this.

I use the Colorstay Overtime lip color. Once I fell asleep and it was still there, unsmudged, the next day. I use Mary Kay eye makeup remover to take it off. It works wonderfully and is very gentle. It's safe for contact wearers and doesn't burn if you get it in your eyes. I put a few drops on a cotton pad and take my eye makeup and lipstick off with the same pad.

Hi Bro's

I been reading the thread trying to pickup some Idea how to solve my problem in one of my server Power Edge 2850. i have a warning

"Memory/Baterry problems where detected. the Adapter has Recovered, but cached data was Lost"

i found some forum that says they have the same problem and the solution is to replace the raid controller battery. I bought a replacement hoping that it will solve the issue but unfortunately when i boot up the server it has the same memory/battery problem detected and this time after pressing any key to continue the system display a warning that the

following scsci ID's are not resonding
CHANEL-0:0,1,2,3"

the system also advised to inspect the cabling, enclosure and then reboot the system. i have checked everything and all is securely connected.

it also has a message

1 Logocal Drive(s) Found on the host adapter
4 Physical Drive(s)FOund on the Host Adapter
1 Logical Drive(s)Failed
1 Logical Drive(s) Handled by BIOS
4 Physical Drive(s) Handled by BIOS

Press .....etc.

the the system is trying to boot on LAN and it will fail.

any one who encountered this issue?
any help will be highly apprecialted.
thanks in advance!
