All Girls: Single-Sex Education and Why It Matters – 3 Stars

I read this book by Karen Stabiner over the holidays. It was a very interesting read, partially because I attended an all-male High School (Walsh Jesuit High School). The book takes an in-depth look at two schools, one west coast and one in East Harlem. It follows the lives of the girls, teachers, parents, and administrations for one entire year. You actually get caught up in the lives of the people and you keep reading to see how the girls will do.

If you have kids and in particular girls, it definitely gives you pause as to what is the best course of action for their education.
