Baking again and travels tonight

I baked another batch of scones on Saturday and some more bread on Sunday. I was going to try some Ginger Scones, but we didn’t have enough crystallized ginger, so I made the same ones as last time, but I used about a 1/3 cup of dried apricots and 2/3 cup currants. They were very good. For the bread, I tried the Heart of Wheat bread, it is similar the two previous loaves that I’ve made, but this recipe uses raw wheat germ to give it the whole wheat flavor with the bitterness of whole wheat (or at least that is what the author says). It was very good.

Tonight we are going up to Bonney Shores to have dinner with Fern’s Uncles. Fern’s parents came into town last night and we’re going to have a little family get together. It will mean a late night tonight by the time we drive home.
